I would suggest dual-booting XP with Vista, but if you prefer to wipe Vista & run XP, it's not hard to do.
1.) Pop in your XP install disc 2.) Reboot with the disc in your CD/DVD drive 3.) Follow the install prompt, you will have an option to delete the system partition as part of the install procedure. 4.) Choose that option & follow the install instructions
You are better off having the applicable XP drivers for your machine's components, at least the ethernet adapter handy, in case you need to go online to download those drivers after loading XP on the system.
