Hi all! I have 2 problems:

1. Screen is broken (can't see a thing)
2. Laptop does not load Windows (so can't switch to external display because fn + F7 only works when logged in to Windows)

I've been trying for hours to blindly fix my laptop through BIOS but I'm afraid that if I do this I'll completely mess up the whole system!

My question is this:

Does anyone know the keystrokes to either (a) fix the laptop or (b) completely restore the laptop to factory settings?

......bearing in mind that I can't see anything on the screen and can't log in to Windows - I can only work on BIOS i.e. the setup options on start-up via F8

Thank you in advance

There is usually a button during booting that allows you to start the system restore process that sets the machine back to the factory standards. You can use that to get you started with your second problem.

For your first problem, screens on laptops can be replaced if done carefully. Check out the website and see if they have a screen available for your laptop. These can be tricky to replace, so if your unsure or not wanting to do it, take the laptop and your screen to the Geek Squad or something like that. Don't buy the screen through them though.

I hope this helps!
