Apologies if this is not the correct place for this question.

I have forgotten the password for my Hotmail account! To make matters worse I didn't set up an alternated email address and the Verify location route doesn't work for me either as I have lived all over the world and anything I enter is always wrong!

When I open Hotmail it automatically loads as it has saved the password somewhere, but where?

I have had the Hotmail address for many years and lots of accounts are registered to this email!

Any help is appreciated

many thanks

Use SIW, it reveals all the hotmail passwords saved to our pc.

Halfway down the left pane click on "Secrets" and with any luck the account name and password will appear on the right.

It's a shame that didn't work.

If the password is stored on your local pc and allows autologin, there are a couple of small tools at the page below. I tried them and they both worked for live messenger and hotmail.

http://www.nirsoft.net/password_rec...

I tried the top two, MessenPass and Mail PassView and they both worked.

I hope you have more luck with them.

P.S. After clicking the link you have to scroll down towards the bottom of the page to get to the zipped download file. (right above the "Stumble it" button are two download links) I scanned the downloaded files with an online scanner and they came back clean. (AV's detected the programs' ability to retrieve passwords. Referred to as risk tools and / or hack tools)
