Hi I'm trying to set up a Tasm assembler its TASM 3.2.

Basically I've downloaded it, extracted it, and when i try 'run' it , i see a flash of a Command Prompt for a half a second, then nothing it disappears.

Am I supposed to use the Tasm Command prompt, or the normal one ?

I have windows Vista home premium.

I would appreciate any help I could get on this as im trying to prepare myself for Computer Science this year.

can anybody offer me a step by step guide as to how i set my computer up with tasm so i can practice assembly language

thank you

I'm completely unfamiliar with TASM assemblers but it sounds like your problem is related to the method you're going about launching the program. Try one of the following:

A) Right-click the program and choose Run as an Administrator.

B) Start, type CMD, right-click cmd.exe and choose Run as an administrator, then navigate to the folder where the program is located and try running the program from there. (using the command prompt)

C) Same as B but without adding the "Run as an administrator" step.
