Check if USB-to-parallel-port adapter and your dot matrix printer both have Vista drivers. To this end, (1) go to dot-matrix printer manufacturer's web site and find your printer drivers, (2) inspect the specifications of the adapter cable. If you do not have Vista drivers, you may try using xp drivers by the .inf update method in device manager. This may or may not work. I cannot guarantee. Use this info at your own risk. Anyway, you have the printer. You will only purchase the adapter cable. By the way, does your printer have Vista or xp drivers ?
