Comment: I am trying to restore the OS from the recovery partition. When i load Safe Mode or "repair' from the F8 menu i get a black screen with a white cursor that moves. Reply: (edit)I don't know if vendors can integrate OS Recovery from F8 menu. And thinking of it...it should be loading from another bootloader, not windows-so getting to F8 is too far already. Example, my Aspire I have to hit Shift-F2 or whatever, and it initiates the bootloader on the recovery partition

Reply: (edit)Justin, I found that the "repair" option" in vista took me to a recovery screen that gave me the option to load the recovery partition (i was suprised too) So im all happy now and i start the image process until it stalls at 8%.... A reboot takes me back to that recovery screen again but without the option to load factory image... Im having the customer get me the Vista install disks. FYI Gateway factory image sucks.
