You need to double-check the HDD password & ensure that you are entering the correct one in the password field or try to ask anyone else that shares the machine with you in case someone else had setup an HDD password.
If you are unable find the password, you may have a paperweight on your hands, hopefully that not that's the case.

Is this a laptop or desktop that you password protected the hard drive? Most laptops once there is a password and the user can not remember it becomes as stated earlier a paperweight. The BIOS encrypts the drive and inexpensive recovery centers are unable to access the data.
