Hard drive not visible

Had a Dell Insperion intel 1.7Ghz 512MB Ram Running Windows XP Home Edition. Installed an external hard drive and copied all of my pics & music files to it. One of my kids knocked it over and it hasn't worked since. I bought a new computer, stats listed above. A post to someone with a similar external failure here suggested installing it directly into the computer. It had SATA drives so I took the external out of the enclosure and installed directly in the new computer. Drivers installed fine. It shows up in BIOS and Nvidia Control Panel correctly, but does not show in explorer, device manager, or in disk management in Admin Tools so, I can't access it, any ideas?

Right-click Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management then right-click on the drive that is 'missing' > Change Drive Letter/Paths... > select a letter from the end of the alphabet > OK and the disk should show in Computer.
Try another letter if it stays hidden.
