I have a graphics tablet and have installed vista. Somehow my tablet is installed by vista (and I have the latest drivers) - however it is recognised as a mouse.
This means that in photoshop I cannot use the pressure to determine the width of the line I'm drawing
If I try the pen flicks program that comes with vista it says I need to use a mouse to do that and when I'm using it, the icon does not change to the icon that's set to when using a pen.Anyone know why?
Thanks,
nsp

Without knowing the make & model of the graphics tablet it is hard to figure out the cause.

XP-Pen is the manufacturer of this graphics tablet. I think you will need to perform the followings:
1. Disconnect the tablet from the PC then restart Windows so that Vista will not remember having it listed in the Device Manager.
2. Download the file named XP-Pen Vista in order to install the correct driver from the link here ...
http://www.xp-pen.com/download/down...
3. Run the file you downloaded and follow the setup prompts. At some point during the setup installation you will be directed to connect the graphics tablet to the PC.
Let us know if it works.
P.S. The answer to your question I was wondering why Vista thinks its a mouse not a tablet is that Vista has no way to tell the difference without the correct driver installed.

The instructions told you how to install that so it wouldn't do that, I'd bet. Did you follow the instructions or just plug it in?
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Hi,
I did that when I installed it originally and I still have the same problem in fact windows detects it as XP Pen.
I did that a month ago but I'll check again and see if there's any new driver.
thanks
