Specs: Windows Vista, quadcore 8GB
i have a gateway lx6200-01 desktop, running vista. It will not fully boot when i have more then 1 drive connected internally, either cd/dvd or another sata hard drive. If i unplug all my extra drives (2 cd/dvd burners, and 2 sata hard drives) then the computer boots up and everything works fine. even my usb dvd works, and usb harddrive. Ive tested all components with other computers and had a tech check out my power supply, everything works fine individualy but not all together. the problem started after a reboot. My girlfriend believes it froze up after connecting/disconnecting her mp3 player

Hard to diagnose at a distance, but I'd guess your motherboard has developed a fault (reboot/freezing stuff isn't clear what happened, but could indicate a hardware problem).

does one device boot work whichever sata port its connected to? (are there only sata - no ide?)

Could try resetting the cmos (usually jumper on the mobo) & loading bios defaults
