I need help!!!

I need to format my hard drive on my laptop because I fear that I have a virus and I want to sort it. I have taken all the information off the laptop that I need but everywhere says that, in order to format the hard drive, I need the windows disc. I don't have a disc, nor did I ever have one. I just switched the thing on and it worked.

Can anyone help?!

Before you get too far, you need to read the owners manual. It will tell you how you are supposed to return the system back to the OEM state. Either a special partition or you make cd's or you buy cd's is the usual way.

thanks jefro, I will try re-reading the manual but I can't seem to make any sense of it at the moment. I'm not computer illiterate but I'm not exactly good with these sorts of things
