Subject: forgotten login passwordOS: Vista Home PremiumCPU/Ram: Intel DC2.4 / 2046DDR2 SDModel/Manufacturer: HP Machine |
Comment: Hi all My father-in-law has changed his password becouse Norton360 "advised" him to, now he can't login to his vista machine. He has written his changed password down but it doesn't work. As mentioned he's running vista on a Packard Bell machine with no back up disks, I haven't got round to doing them yet. To sum up then Does anyone know a way round this? Can I create a password recovery disk on my machine and use it on his? Is there any recovery software that doesn't cost the earth? Anymore thoughts are greatfully received! Thanks in advance The world is full of willing people, some are willing to work, others are willing to let them; just a thought!

Reply: (edit)You gotta love three thinks about this post. 1. A simple solution. 2. A reply back on the solution 3. A Person helping out a family member. In addition Wombat's help. Good system specs. Except for Model everything is there For future reference you can create a password recovery disk from HIS machine. This being a proactive approach. Good to see you helping him with security and backup issues. The two biggies in my opinion.
