Force Windows To Open On Current Monitor

May 1, 2011 at 20:13:27
Specs: Windows Vista
I have a setup involving multiple monitors and, while I have found programs to add a task bar and start menu to every monitor, and it also added the functionality of switching the monitors a window is on by adding a button, I still have one problem.

The windows I open almost never appear on the monitor I am currently on. This forces me to have to go to the other monitor, click the button to send it to the right one, and return to the monitor. This may seem like a minor inconvenience; however, when you close and open things as much as I do, it seriously hinders productivity.

So, yes. Does anyone know anything that will force windows to open on the current monitor?

Did you go into the display properties, select the monitor you wish to use, and set it as "main monitor" lil chck box?

See, that would work if I only used one of my monitors.

I, more or less, use them equally. So the one that is main is unimportant, as I would still need to have some open on the secondary one all the time.
