Ok, so i have that option checked (Remeber each folder's view settings) in Vista, but over time.. usually 5-7 days, Vista starts crapping out and forgetting some folders' view settings. There's my downloads folder, which doesnt show the Size, Date Modified, Type, tabs.. but only has the Name tab. It's so ANNOYING when it does that. And also.. the My Stuff folder, it forgets that they're supposed to be Tiled, but it remembers them as being shown as Details.
why the HELL is this operating system so annoying?

I'm having the same problem. Maybe Vista Service Pack 1 will correct it. I think that it was discussed at http://www.annoyances.org/exec/foru... though I haven't found the specific discussion yet.

If possible, let us know if this response was helpful or if you need further advice.

IMO Vista wasn't meant to be as configurable as XP. This is another reason why the glory of the new OS is tarnished. Who knows Vista SP1 may change all that. Until then, stick with XP.

yea.. umm, vista pretty much sucks.. i remember the years when bad hardware technology came out.. it was when clinton passed a 'specific bill'. well, apparently, vista belongs in that era. im going back to XP. Ive had enough problems with vista. to everyone out there, i've had a couple hard drives fail (ya kinda sucks), and with vista, i actually have a virus scanner, and have viruses and adware that loves to hang out with vista. i've had XP before, WITHOUT virus/spyware programs, and never really caught one. this operating system officially blows. im going back to XP SP2

I've been using Vista for well over a year now & I don't think the OS is meant for rocket scientist in anyway. Although, I have to agree that it is not for everyone - heck, there are folks out there that shunned & still avoid XP for similar reasons.
