Please help. I have a folder (containing 5 GB) of files in my old laptop (WinXP) and would like to move that folder to my new laptop (running Windows Windows Vista). How do I do that? I can't seem to make it work between Easy File Transfer (vista) and Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (of WinXP). It could not detect the connection between these two terminals. FYI, I have a firewire and USB cables, if they are helpful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I tried to connect firewire to firewire. Is that even possible?

2 ways:
1. buy a gig flash drive and transer the files 1 gig at a time, just plug in the flsh drive on one, load the files, and plug it into the other.
or
2. Buy a crossover network cable (<$10) and conect bothe computers ethernet card using it. The set up file sharing. instructions to set up file sharing are availible all overt he internet.
Always back up...I JUST LOST 287 gigs entertainment!

thank you, cody. forgive me if i have a lot of question... will it work even with folder containing .vob files? (transferring one .vob file at a time?) because my laptop's burner (from the one running winxp) crashed, so i'd like to move them to the new laptop (running Vista). i always thought a back-up of dvd should always be moved all at the same time; otherwise, there is something at least that will be left out (maybe a hidden file) if i moved it one at a time. just wondering.
