Comment: 10:41 01/04/2008 Problem: Unable to setup Family safety Description There was an icon in the task tray that says Family Safety web filter is not active. So i right-clicked it and a window popped up that says Program Setup - Family Safety. So i clicked Next and in the Sign into Windows Live i put my windows live ID and password and then clicked Sign In. An error box then pops up that says Family Safety (X) Family Safety software is unable to connect to the internet from this machine. Please check your network settings and confirm that that your network cable is plugged in. ...and thats kind of silly really, because i am already connected to the internet. i am writing this request on line right now. So how comes this is so? i checked with internet explorer options and it is using the correct default connection for the internet. i am also signed in to the correct Windows Live Messenger Account for the setup process.

Reply: (edit)Check your firewall to make sure the Family Saftey Software has access to the internet. I would also recommend going to Control Panel > User Accounts/Family Settings > Parental Controls for better filtering. You can customize it to great extent. crappy OEM comptuers...
