My computer ceased to recognize my DVD drive several months ago, it occasionally comes back and works perfectly, but then disappears at random.
I just bought an external DVD drive and vista called it an 'unknown usb device.'
If anyone could tell me what driver to get or what driver i need to tell my computer to look for it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

Usb for most common thing are fully supported in Vista.
Unless there is some applications that came with the drive, then that would be slightly different than a driver as such.
Guess you could look at the OEM site of the drive and see. Bet they would only offer Win98 and below drivers.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Apparently, my computer has a dead usb port. While i'm very thrilled about this, the drive works fine in a different port.
Hooray computers.
