Microsoft Windows vista home premium 64-...

Specs: Vista Home Premium 64Bit

I downloaded flash player plugin recently. Immediately
after that all my applications are trying to open in IE 7.
When I start Vista normally, as soon as the desktop
loads, countless IE windows open up and eventually
system crashes. I am able to login in safe mode, but
there also exe files wont open. I cant even access
cmd, msconfig etc..I uninstalled Flash Player, still it
is not working. Is the registry corrupted? How do I fix
this? Thanks in advance!

Have you downloaded the flash player plugin directly from the Adoble homepage, or did you access a webpage that suggested to download the flash player plugin with a link on that site, to download and install it?

Sounds like an infected plugin.

Hi Paul..
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded it from another site that had a "Click here to download Flash Player" link. Maybe it was a corrupted file.
Anyway I have solved the issue by downloading exefix.reg from winhelponline.net and merging it with the registry. The problem was a corrupted registry. Now everything is back to normal. Thanks again for your help.
