Comment:

All of a sudden Vista is blocking .exe files from being saved when downloaded OR from being extracted from .ZIP files.
I'm assuming one of the updates for security is the culprit.

Can anyone help me find out how to disable this "For my own good" "enhancement"?

I've tried everywhere to find an answer and have asked on MS's Help Communities and no one there could help! This is ridiculous!

Please help me, as this is very aggravating..

Thanks for any help and info.

PS Going into the Registry to make changes doesn't faze me!

Sounds like you have the Sircam worm whose purposes is to blocks the execution of exe files, among other things.

I don't know if the following MSKB written for XP will work for Vista.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311446

Be advised that the fix isn't easy.
