I have an Epson 1200u scanner that has worked great for many years. I bought a Windows Vista computer and tried to use this scanner. When I turned on the scanner, Vista recognized the scanner and wanted me to install the driver from disk. This didn't work. Went to the Epson site and found that the 1200 is only supported through Windows XP. Downloaded the driver the zip file anyway. Unzipped and set set-up to XP SP2 compatibility. Driver installed fine.
I use Irfanview for acquiring images. This shows the Epson 1200 as a Twain device, but when I go to scan the scanner is not recognized. When I go to Scanners on the control panel the Epson is not there and refreshing doesn't help. The scanner is connected via USB and powered on.
So I went from Vista recognizing the device, but no drivers, to drivers, but Vista won't recognize the device. Any thoughts on fixing this?
