E-mail hyperlink problem

When someone e-mails me ( I have Outlook 2007 and Vista) with a hyperlink they copied and pasted from a web URL, I try and open by clicking the link and receive this error message " general failure, the URL was..... application not found" and I can't open the link. But when I copy and paste the actual hyperlink into explorer, the URL works and brings me to the correct page. The problem is I can't click hyperlinks to open them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try Googling for "Outlook email hyperlinks not working" (or similar) because some of the old XP fixes might still work for Vista. Here's one:
