Subject: EasyCleaner 2.0 Program not workingOS: Win Vista Home PremiumCPU/Ram: 1.60HGz/2048MBModel/Manufacturer: Toshiba Satrllite P105-S6 |
Comment: I had the latest version of SpyBot loaded on my computer. I then downloaded EasyCleaner 2.0. During the process SpyBot wanted to change something in the Registry and by mistake I said yes. Now when I run EasyCleaner and run the Registry Cleaner it will not delete the invalid entries. I deleted SpyBot and tried running the Registry part of EasyCleaner again and it still will not work. How do I go about finding and deleting the registry entry that is causing this? Thanks for any help. Jim

Reply: (edit)You should probably re-install Spybot. There should be an option somewhere in the program to restore all changes made by Spybot. If not, I think I remember that when one un-stalls Spybot, it asks if you wish to restore changes made by it. If so, answer "yes."

Reply: (edit)On the alternative, you can use your system restore in vista if you remember the day the change was made. Click on Start > type system restore in the search bar >> Click on the system restore link to get started. You must have admin right to do this though. Reply: (edit)or i would suggest this, it might not work but it's worth giving it a try, go to run and type regedit then hit enter on the registry editor go to edit, located in the toolbar, and click on find, then type spybot then delete anything you find that should solve your problem ASSMAN
