Comment: I have an Asus Laptop and I discovered yesterday that DVD Drive, USB Flash drive are not showing on my computer. I checked the device manager, all hardware are okay and I checked Disk Management and discovered that the DVD drive is recognized with no drive letter. I tried adding drive letter to the drive, it seems sucessful but it disapears almost immediately. The Drive is installed when checked on the device manager and it was recognized in the computer bios. I tried adding my USB Flash drive and noticed the same problem.

Reply: (edit)I booted the Laptop this morning only to discover that the OS has crashed. Am getting pissed off with Vista, thinking on installing WINXP on the Laptop but the problem is getting all winxp drivers for the Laptop. I will just use the Laptop recovery cd to re-install the OS back. Thanks for your help.
