I have a strange issue with my internal memorex 16x dual layer dual format dvd burner. It reads cds and dvds fine but say i put in a blank dvd-r it will just sit there and make clicking noises, and if it does detect the cd it will act like it is burning, say it was successful, but to my horror the dvd has nothing on it. This burner worked perfectly in xp, so why won't it in vista. I tried another burner and it does the same thing, and this burner works fine in my friends pc.

I had the same problem. I went to the computers web site to try to get warranty and they told me to check the registry for a certain key value and delete it. I can't remember the key. Check their web page to see if it might help you.
