Many updates are listed twice and I'm sure I didn't install them twice.
Fresh 2008 HP Pavilion OS w/Vista Home Premium w/all applicable updates applied, yet (as viewed in the 'Installed Updates' > 'Uninstall An Update' window) I'm seeing what seems to be either some snafu or unexplained reasoning as to why all the "Update for Office 2007" and all of the "Security Update for MS Office system 2007" updates are all listing twice.
I hope not everyone's os lists installed updates this way.
Basic task of update accountability seems lacking as the only log or tracking I see Vista performing, is a bit of an unreliable list of installed updates, i.e.; duplicated updates being isted and no Vista log of when updates were installed.
Is it just me (expecting too much or overlooking where the info' might be logged) or does Vista simply disafford a meaningful log of installed updates?
Even using BelArc to account for and link to the update details doesn't tell me when the update was installed.

Rt click Start>Open all Users.Double click Windows Update then on the left click View Update History.

Thanks for replying.
My 'view updates history' wasn't listing install dates, etc. (just MS update numbers and non-descript descriptions).
But as for the "Installed Updates" list (as linked to from the "view update history" window), that list of updates oddly indicates as mentioned, many instances of duplicated MS updates (all involving only MS Office updates and all duplicates list same dates).
Maybe another round of updates like those that seem to have restored my previously missing columns (in 'view update history') will also straighten out the 'Installed Updates" list.
