Quick question (maybe long answer):
Is it possible to take my 250gb hd, partition it with like partion magic or something. To make a, say, 20gb e: drive and install Vista RC2 on it? and can I install the x64 vista even though I'm using the x86 XP?

You can use PM to setup an E: partition. Make sure you back up before doing it though...just in case. 20GB *should* be large enough but you may wanna go larger. I don't recommend the 64-bit version though. See Sabertooth's response:
