Hi,
I have configured my explorer to show the folders pane on the left, the icons in the middle, and the details pane at the bottom.

It is this bottom details pain that I want to configure to display the resolution of jpeg images. Either it can display horizontal and vertical resolutions, or it can display just the total resolution.
Pleae look at the below screen shot to see exactly what I mean.

I do not want to change the folder view to detail view, I need the folder view to be in thumbnails. I just want a way by which I can click a jpeg file and it shows me its resolution in the detail pane. The detail pane already shows the size and dimensions, so I think there should be some registry trick that can also display the resolution down there.
Thanks.

Sarosh

I doubt Windows Explorer is capable of displaying the number of pixels in an image which is what resolution is all about. All it will give you in the detail view is the width and height of the image, plus the file size. You can use this information to obtain the total number of pixels (resolution) by multiplying the image width and height.

Vista has more than 1 method to display the resolution of jpeg images, it just would be so much more convienient to have it displayed in the details pane below without having to swith to details view or right click>properties>details
See this SS to see what I mean:

Look HERE to see a complete list of 267 - yeah you hear it right - 267 file & folder detail options that are available to you. As I said before resolution (pixel) certainly is not one of them.

In any event M$ certainly did a great job giving us lots of options that were not available with earlier Windows family.

XpUser, take the time to click on the link above, unfortunately it got posted around my name, so just click on the word "Sarosh" above and look at that image.

I can find out the hor res and ver res of any image in vista.
If I want I can load the image in photoshop to find out its res, but what I wanted was to have the res displayed in the pane at the bottom, that would be awesomely convenient.
Take a look at these 2 links below:

(click the linsk even if they get formatted as my sig)

Xpuser, this is what I was looking for.
It was only possible through a minor registry change.
