This really isn't a window question really, but any help that can be offered is appreciated. Out of the blue, my laptops screen became screwed up. The colors are off, for example what should be white is now a light blue. It basically looks like someone hit the select all option. It also has a mild distortion as if everything is shadowed. To explain the look even further, it's almost as if the screen is in that 16 bit safe mode resolution. The problem with this is, is that I don't believe that this is a windows problem as it is this way before the system even boots up. The very first screen and even system bios looks this way.

Anyone who has maybe heard that Acer has been having issues with their laptop screens could help me out with some information.

Thanks a bunch.

Matt

Sounds like you'll have to bring it in to get serviced really.

You're right... it's not a Windows problem, it's your display. Are you still under warranty?, cause you should get it repaired.

forgot... a way to know for sure would be to use the display out on your laptop and hookup to another Monitor or TV and see if the distortions happen there as well... that might at least help you figure out if it's the LCD display... or maybe the Video Card/Mainboard going bad.

Thanks for the help. It's under warranty until March '08. I can't sort it out, so I'm going to send it to be repaired. It has to go to Texas. Does anyone know what the turnaround time is on this? I kind of need this machine for schoolwork. It's going to suck if it is gone in excess of a month.

Thanks again for the help.

Matt
