Comment:

I have two hard drives and am dual booting xp pro and vista:
40gb with xp installed (master)
250gb with vista rc1 installed (slave)

i would like to disable the 40gb drive (remove power because it is extremely loud!) and only use the 250gb with vista.

how can i copy the boot manager from the 40gb drive to the 250gb drive so that i can use it as a master and boot from it?

Reply:

Remove the loud HDD & invoke the "Startup Repair" tool on the Windows Vista installation disc.

when i click on system repair, it asks me to select my operating system...it doesn't show one.

it says "if you do not see your operating system listed, click load drivers to load drivers for you hard disks". what drivers is this referring to?

btw, i opened a command prompt and noticed that my vista install is on drive "D:", not "C:"
