disable master and boot from slave

I have two hard drives and am dual booting xp pro and vista: 40gb with xp installed (master) 250gb with vista rc1 installed (slave)
i would like to disable the 40gb drive (remove power because it is extremely loud!) and only use the 250gb with vista.
