How do I disable InPrivate Browsing in IE8 without using parental controls? What is the procedure to make the change to the registry? I have a 64-bit operating system. I don't know if that makes a difference. I have been searching for hours trying to find an answer with no luck. Please help!

Try this

Click Start, Run. Type GPEDIT.MSC and hit ENTER
Go to:

User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Internet Explorer / InPrivate

Turn off InPrivate Browsing: Enabled

When I do that, it says that Windows cannot find "GPEDIT.MSC". Is there a way to change the registry?
