Different Im Clients?

hi well i have email accounts with different people on both and i want to use an IM that can run parallel MSN i tryed GAIM but it doesnt work :S it just freezes my computer completly or just shuts it self down when i try to login, so i need another one thats free and can be downloaded :)


PC:

CPU: Athlon 64 3500+
RAM: 512 MB DDR 400
HDD: 80GB SATA
GPU: Geforce 6150

Laptop:

CPU: Turion 64 x2 Tl-50
RAM: 2GB DDR2
HDD: 160GB
GPU: Mobility x1600
