Hello
I am trying to connect with "Administrative Tools>Computer Management" on a remote Vista (Enterprise) machine, the connection is established successfully but when i try to enter on "Device Manager" it fails with the error:
Unable to access the computer AVISTA.
Make sure that this computer is on the network, has remote administration enabled, and is running the "Plug and Play" and "Remote Registry" services.
The error was: Access is Denied. Both services are running, connected with valid credentials.
Configuration:
- machine 1 (that starts the connection with Computer Management) I tried with Windows 2000 server SP4, Windows XP, SP1, SP2, Windows Vista Enterprise, etc.
- machine 2 (that I am connecting to from machine 1 ) is Windows Vista Enterprise.
- connection is local ethernet, SMB connection works, browsing the HKLM on machine 2 with registry connection works, even "Administrative Tools>Computer Management" connection works because i can see the NT services on the remote machine.
Everything works but "Device Manager" ... which is very important to me
I would gladly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

ok its getting late and i am getting tired but sounds like a firewall issue...
make sure that on your firewall (windows or 3rd party) that the needed ports are availible and are set to allow echo requests.
