Subject: Desktop Theme is Missing! Help!OS: Vista UltimateCPU/Ram: 2.2 GHz Athlon/2 gigModel/Manufacturer: Self |
Comment: I downloaded Vista's DreamScene from the Update Site and experimented by selected one of the videos for my desktop. The concept is interesting but I wasn't impressed enough to continue using the video. I tried to go back to the background I selected when I set up Vista but the one I like the most is "gone"!! I have searched everywhere on the machine and can't find it. In pictures I can find all the other images that were an option when I selected the background. Is there any site I can go to where I can download the background theme that came with Vista. I don't have the name but surely there is somewhere I can locate the default pictures and download the one I'm missing. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Reply: (edit)XPUser, Don't understand Shadow Copy. Would it take my entire Vista Installation back to when I first installed it? I had an idea (I know-that is dangerous!) Could I take the Vista DVD and do a search for .jpg images. I know in previous versions of Windows you could put in the installation CD and locate a specific file. Not sure it would work but I am sure you would know. Thanks for taking the time to try to help me.

Reply: (edit)When I'm wrong I'm wrong - Vista Shadow copy is file-based only. It's not an image of the whole system. Try Ben's suggestion. i_XpUser
