Subject: Desktop Theme is Missing! Help!
OS: Vista Ultimate
CPU/Ram: 2.2 GHz Athlon/2 gig
Model/Manufacturer: Self
Comment:

I downloaded Vista's DreamScene from the Update Site and experimented by selected one of the videos for my desktop. The concept is interesting but I wasn't impressed enough to continue using the video. I tried to go back to the background I selected when I set up Vista but the one I like the most is "gone"!! I have searched everywhere on the machine and can't find it. In pictures I can find all the other images that were an option when I selected the background.

Is there any site I can go to where I can download the background theme that came with Vista. I don't have the name but surely there is somewhere I can locate the default pictures and download the one I'm missing.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Use Shadow Copy to restore the OS.

XPUser,

Don't understand Shadow Copy. Would it take my entire Vista Installation back to when I first installed it?

I had an idea (I know-that is dangerous!) Could I take the Vista DVD and do a search for .jpg images. I know in previous versions of Windows you could put in the installation CD and locate a specific file. Not sure it would work but I am sure you would know.

Thanks for taking the time to try to help me.

When I'm wrong I'm wrong - Vista Shadow copy is file-based only. It's not an image of the whole system. Try Ben's suggestion.
