In XP, I could untick a box so that the Desktop Cleanup Wizard wouldn't do it's thing every 60 days.
Where is this option is Vista? Google search only gets me the XP option, despite using "Vista" as a keyword.

My google bloodhound found this link in 1 second. To sum it up...
Question: Does vista have a desktop cleanup wizard?
Answer: Nope - the Desktop Cleanup function has been removed from Windows Vista. There is still a disk cleanup tool, but not desktop.

If you are looking to "untick a box so that the Desktop Cleanup Wizard wouldn't do it's thing every 60 days," arguably, Vista is already ahead of the curve in that: you no longer have to since the OS already saved you that hassle.

Are you saying that there is finally a reason that Vista is better than XP?
I don't have to tell Vista to stop bothering me since I am smart enough to see what is on my desktop?
:)
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

I guess jefro meant to say he's more attentive to whats on his Vista desktop the less space cluttered with junks the better :-)

"I don't have to tell Vista to stop bothering me since I am smart enough to see what is on my desktop?"
.... not taking responsibility is as much a part of our (American) culture as is feigning ignorance :-)
On a lighter note....
Heading to work this morning, I happened to be stuck behind this dump truck for about two miles & printed -- behind it -- in big bold letters & underlined was: "Truck NOT responsible for damages to your vehicle as a result of flying debris" .... Couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of a slimy & desperate attorney taking the guy up on that disclaimer.

LOL, Desktop Cleanup Wizard may no longer be around in Vista to bug me, but they've found other ways. For instance UAC. I killed that annoyance real quick. Windows Defender, no thanks, I have altenatives. Some reason I had to use ctrl+alt+del before I could log on. I killed that crap too. And lastly don't even get me started on the plethora of unneeded services I'll never use.
