desktop appearance disappear & ...

my laptop is Acer Aspire 4937G & it's Windows Vista.
yesterday my laptop desktop appearance appeared normal.
but today when i switched on my laptop. the whole desktop appearance went back to the first time i use the laptop.
i restarted my laptop for more than 20 times and it's still the same.

oh, what i mean is that the whole thing can went back to no display pic, no icons on the desktop itself & also the taskbar i used have lots of icons in it but it just went blank except the start menu.

if task bar avalaible, go to start > documents check if any files there

yep, i just check everything. all the documents are still there. yesterday i still can sign in my msn, but now cannot. i dont know why.

start > in the "Start Search" write :
explorer.exe
also make a hdd search for "Desktop" folder

you said that you are missing desktop icons, so you search for desktop folder to check if the icons are there
