An automatic update is updating you system
Try to enter in safe mode and use System Restore
to go back.

I always disable Automatic Updates
Sometimes system restore makes changes
that disable your system completely,without
you even knowing.

Click the start menu
/System Tools
/System Restore

Check the "restore my computer to an earlier date"

Click the NEXT button

And now choose a date that is older that the date you first
started to have the problem.

Or check this videos

Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset
is a livecd that can let you boot your computer
directly to windows but I don't know were to get it

This tool set comes with the option to use systemrestore
or rename and delete files.
check this page but remember that you need to get into
windows to do this

Method 3
