I have just noticed that items I have deleted do not show as "content" in the Recycle Bin. By that I mean that when I open the bin deleted items are indeed there and the bin can be emptied. What I mean is that the bin icon does not show that there are items to be deleted.
I accessed Desktop\Personalisation\Change Desktop Icons and reset both the Full and Empty Icons to default but it makes no difference the bin still does not show that there are items to be deleted.
Not that it worries me but how I can I repair this?

Followed my own frequently given advice and Googled for an answer... found this:
HERE IS THE FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM: right click on desktop, got to 'personalize', then in the left column click 'change desktop icons'. Afterwards, click on the 'recycle bin empty' icon and change it with the icon that shows the recycle bin full…and do the same for the 'recycle bin full' icon. Click apply. Now when the recycle bin is full it will show empty and when empty it will show full. Go back and change them to the normal icons as they should be and it will solve the problem
