Never easy. Might have to edit out the registry one line at time.

Might try an install and proper uninstall.

Might end up doing a clean install of Vista.

Even after I uninstall a program the proper way I go in and do a search of the registry and clean the rest out.

my dream is to figure out how to record every step that occurs on an install (files loaded and to what paths, but especially registry keys added or altered or deleted!!!) I just know there's something out there to do this, so i don't ever, ever have to depend on windows and software mfr's "uninstall" to get rid of garbage. anyone has clue, broadcast it. Same information would also be highly valuable in "reinstalling" or at least compiling list of drivers/dlls etc of any given app or driver.

Your 1st query - Look for InCtrl5.
There are similar products.

Second - 'Drivers' - There are many out there but I have not found one that does the job as I would like it to.
Perhaps someone else has and can provide a link.

You can try Revo uninstaller and do a brute force removal and clean up all the registry keys that way:

Norton used to have an application that recorded every task an installer did and could reverse it.

To edit a registry you have to be careful. See web pages and warnings before you begin and learn how to recover from mistakes by making backup registry.
