why when i put my computer to sleep and wake it up again do i sometimes come up with a dead screen? i plug in my remote mouse to a usb port and i have no pointer. if i try and manipulate the screen via the keyboard it is also dead. control escape wont give me my start menu nor will pressing the windows key. Tab key wont work either as a matter of fact no keys will work. it seems to happen when i plug in my remote mouse to the usb port before the desktop comes up as opposed to plugging it in after the desktop comes up. any ideas anybody?

Sleep or Hibernate & Standby are meant for notebooks, not desktops. To avoid any more problems just don't put your HP Pavilion Slimline to sleep again.

Take a peek at the link below to get idea of the magnitude of problems caused by Windows in suspended state.

On the other hands if you are determinded to resolve this problem, the links below (one from HP and the other M$) is for you.
