Comment: My computer shows around 10% CPU usage, but when I look at the processes nothing shows that it is using any CPU. If I restart the computer everything is fine until it wakes up from sleep mode, then it goes back to using around 10 percent. I have all un-necessary services disabled and very few startup programs. Specs are: Vista Premium, 2048mb DDR2, AMD TL-56 dual core, Nvidia geforce Go 6100 Andrew Kraker

Reply: (edit)That can be due to programs running in the background like an Anti-Virus, Firewall, Ad/Spyware removal programs etc.. go into the processes section in the task manager and scroll down and see which program running in the background is making your processor run at 10%. if you know what it is and it doesn't need to be running in the background all the time then go to the run command type msconfig and go to the startup tab menu and uncheck the program that's running that 10% in the background.
