My laptop is eating up CPU like crazy, with 100% maximum frequency even while idling, and disk space is at a premium. The memory is about 50%-60% used while idling too. Is there any way I can reduce this insane computer usage?

Open the Task Manager and look at the Process
tab. See what process is using the resources.

Basically anything that happens to be running at the moment is using up a huge chunk of CPU. I'm not entirely sure why it's eating up so much CPU where the same processes a week before would've found used by very little. I am used Spybot search and Destroy software that has found and eliminated some malware.
EDIT:EDIT:And then is jumped back up to 100% total usage. What the f--- is deal here...?
EDIT: I went in this morning and ended some services that I don't need, and cleaned the files out using Mcaffee Quickclean. This reduced the CPU usage to a 50% constant with no to little disk usage.
