This happened on my win2k OS as well and I thought it was a memory problem because it was an old system, but now it is happening on my Win Vista. Can't be a memory problem cause I have 2g's and is pretty much stripped clean of any other programs except for messenger. I work out of my home and usually have about 3 to 4 windows open at one time. I do a lot of multi tasking which is why I purchased this system.

I use the copy and paste feature a lot! After awhile, it stops working and I need to reboot. I clean my temp files through out the day and when my copy and paste feature stops working, my tools pull down menu loses its options as well, like I can't see the internet options choice. Can some one tell me what the problem is and can it be fixed?

If you mean for my work- it is an online program provided by the company. I don't have it downloaded on my system it is through their own website. I copy a lot of phone numbers I get on internet websites and paste them. Save me a lot of time having to type out the numbers. I use the mouse for the copy & paste.

Can you copy and paste with a standard word processing program, such as Notepad, Wordpad, etc. ?

Never tried, don't use it. Why do you ask?

We ask question mainly to identify & isolate problems. If you never have tried or used Windows standard copy & paste functions, then your problem is not Windows Vista problem.

Well it is doing it again. I ended up having to close out additional windows and now I only have two window open. I tried as you suggested and can't even open the word program. I clicked on tools and there is no option for internet options to clear my temp files. It's like my memory is being sucked up by toggling between windows all day and copying & pasting. I would appreciate if anyone could help. Even Dell tech no support can help. Like I said this use to happen when I used Win 2k as well.
