Hi! chaps,
I copied 10 music cd's for a friend, and only two of them play, he tried them on two other players with the same result, he brought them back to m, and they play om my computer ok, WHY?
Why doesn't this program remember my credentials, I'm sick to death of filling it in?.

You probably burned the CDs using Windows Vista Live File System format instead of Mastered format which explain why it will not play on your friend's PC (see link below for details). Personally I use Mastered format so that the CDs & DVDs I burn will play on any computers.

What program was used to burn the discs?

Also these music CDs: were they your compilation or were they cloned from retail CDs?

Sabertooth,
They were copied from my cd collection, some of them years old.

I can't remember exactly how far back I've been using Nero exclusively to burn my own compilation, but it sure has been for quite a while now. In XP, I had the IMAPI service turned off from day one & in Vista that was one the first things I looked to disable, albeit unsuccessfully, since it is no longer a "service" that can be turned off at will.

If indeed you had used the built-in 'Burn files to disc' feature in Vista, then you are going about it the convoluted way. Next time try the no-frills Windows Media Player or Media Center method.
