I have Vista at home, but windows 98 at work. I need to open my Vista files at work sometimes, but I can't because they are not compatible. Is there a program out there that will convert the files for me?

There is no such thing as "Vista file" and/or "Windows 98 files". If you are unable to open a specif file, it is due to the specif file type and program that is used to open it. For example, newer versions of Word save their files as .docx files, which can't be opened with older versions of Word. Please let us know what files you are trying to open, and we can help with that.

.docx is a Microsoft word document. If your office is using XP or 2003 Microsoft Office, download MS Office Compatibility Pack at the link below and install it.

or

Open Word 2007 at home and save the documents in Word 97-2003 format (doc) instead of .docx
