do you have the wireless broadband router password protected. if you need to access configuration management on the router you will need to type in 192.168.1.1 on the internet explorer bar, and if you password protected your linksys then it is going to pop up with a user name and password. then go through there and configure your router and set it up to WPA personal to keep other people from access your router.

Is SSID broadcast enabled in the Linksys router settings ? If yes, do you see the name of your router(or whatever you named the connection) when you click on view available wireless networks ?

I don't know what an SSID Broadcast is, so please elaborate, or tell me how to turn on the broadcast. The router has a ethernet cable(?) running from the router into the back of the computer.

When I go to connections, It says there's nothing, can't find anything, and when i go to diagnose, it says i need to install new hardware or update my drivers. I don't know what hardware i need, and i already tried updating my drivers...

Look at Beginner1's response to see how to access the router configuration. Are you trying to access the router with a wireless connection or directly thru the ethernet cable connection ? SSID Broadcast is for a wireless connection. You don't need to consider that if you're just using the ethernet cable.

You probably have to update the drivers for the ethernet on the motherboard or for an ethernet card if you have one installed. Do you see some kind of a network card listed in device manager ?
