Comment: I shut my computer down fine last night and it had been behaving normally. However when i go to turn it back on now it wont boot. I get power to the computer as fans start spinning and the power light and dvd light come on, but nothing on the monitor, literally nothing as I cant even get to the bios screen. There doesnt seem to be any activty (whirring) from the hard drive either. Ive checked cables etc... and opened up the case to check the chip isnt caked in dust etc, but have no idea where to go from now. Any ideas?? Thanks

Reply: (edit)Even when there is no activity from the HDD, there should still be video. Your display or lack thereof issue could be related to the monitor, video card or even the RAM.
