Comment:

My computer was working fine but firefox would not start so I did a system restore. My computer never turned back on after the restore so i decided to reset it.

now after the reset it will not boot. I have 3 hds and when i do a restart it only shows one of them. The drive it shows does not have the operating system on it.

When i go into the bios it shows all 3 hds but still will not load vista off the c drive. I tried to put the vista disk in and do a repair but vista loads then i get a blue screen with a cursor. Nothing else happens.

Any suggestions? The hds are good and they show up in the bios so I am a total loss. Thanks a ton.

reset the cmos??
disconnect all drives. pull all memory and reseat. pull video card, reseat, unless its onboard of course.
using one stick of memroy and just the video connected try a startup.
if no go, look for the cmos reset jumper on the board. move from pins 1-2 to 2-3 for a few secs.
back to pins 1-2, see if a screen comes up.
if so, then connect just the harddrive with the vista on it.
make sure it gets into windows.
then, go back and reconnect all others drives, memory etc.

What exactly do you mean system restore? Did you use a CD/DVD?

The Vista CD (if you have it) can be used to recover files. Consider saving your work before you go any farther.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

The master boot record of the hard disk might have gone corrupt during the reset operation. You can do a repair install of the OS using the Vista disk or you can please see the following Microsoft knowledgeBase article for a possible fix for your problem.

Hope the above helps.
