Computer won't boot all the way sometimes...

I believe this started occurring after I recently updated my video drivers, although I also recently had overheating issues (lack of coolant, I have water cooling) which I resolved.
Sometimes when my computer goes into sleep mode, and I try to wake it up the computer boots but nothing is displayed on the monitors. Even if I power down and power back up, it still happens. Only until I change the hardware (say, take out a slot of RAM then boot) does it fully boot.
Summary: Recently the computer won't boot vista, it just stays at the screen with the little yellow bar thing. It won't boot into safe mode, the startup repair doesn't change anything, and i tired to boot into...
