my computer will not boot up. it comes on but when it gets to the windows screen to boot up, it shuts off immediately. at first it booted up, but it wouldnt stay on long and i would shut itself off. now it wont even stay on long enough to boot up, it shuts down automatically. it will not boot up or anything now, only turn on and then shut off.

can u tell me what might be wrong with it? and is there a fix for it?

have you tried tapping f8 on bootup and going into safe mode?
See if that works. Once in safe mode, try a system restore to before the problem

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Hi there,

It seems to be there can be 2 reasons of behind this problem

1) Your operating system / windows is corrupted and you need to re-install / fix it by pressing f8 key in start and then choosing Last known good configuration .

2) The power supply of your system is mal-functioning and need to be repaired / replaced.

At first i suggest you to use F8 options and if un-sucessful then use recovery disk if you have . if you are un-successful then visit any local computer shop for help.

Best of luck
