computer freezes

recently my computer after using it crashes or freezes dont no why? normally after about an hour or so or sometimes even quicker i cant even do CTRL-ALT-DEL some times a critical error comes up and then i restart the pc but it doesnt load up untill i restart the second time i think it could be the OS but every thing seems ok any ideas ?

If your computer freeze after an hour that means it may be the problem with your software side or a virus problem. you need to scan your computer with update antivirus or anti-spyware removal tools. You can also repair your window. You should also check that cpu fan is proper rotate or not.

thanks ive tried that already ive tried repairing windows but it doesnt seem to work how do you do it?

Could be a heat problem. Without seeing it, could be any number of things (hardware and/or software).
Worth running check disk (chkdsk c: /f from a command prompt - runs on next reboot)

thanks for the help ive tried check disk found nothing the repair install link is for xp ive got vista ive checked event log but thats no help recently ive found that the computer freezes mostly when using the internet or doing alot of tasks (opening loads of windows documents media etc.) i was thinking it could be the RAM how could i check for this?
